How does one seat the L drive axle in the tranny?

And................according to a service manual a member directed me to, there is a tool that is used to expand the seal(to prevent damage) and expands the ring it is then removed after assembly.

If you're CAREFUL, you can lightly 'kiss' the ends of the ring ON THE AXLE with a jeweler'* file to remove any burrs, then grease up the ring and seal, and just POP it in.
