Where is the oil filter? Also in need of maintenance tips.
Forgive me here for I just purchased my first Bonneville. It is a 2002 SE with the standard 3.8L V6. It has 41K on it and is in need of an oil change. The car will not fit on my current ramps so I was going to try and do it flat on the ground. I can see the oil pan bolt but not the filter. Can someone fill me in on where the filter is located? Does anyone have pictures of the underside of the engine? Are there any other things I should be doing right now or problems to look for? Thanks!

The oil filter is on the behind the oil pan on the passenger side. I'm not too sure if you can do it with the car on the ground. You should atleast jack up the front end so you can get a catch can under the pan/filter to catch all of the oil.
An added benefit is that the oil filter from the S10 Blazer/Jimmy with the 4.3L v6 fits out B'villes. It is around 1" longer and will not interfere with anything. Added filter area is a good thing!
