Default warranty item?

I just put new sneakers on the old girl. ContiExtremeContact 255/50/17. Had a problem with the first set (3 out of 4) being out of round. Getting new ones this week. Great in the powder.

But in trying to fix the problem I sent her to 3 different shops. All three said that my outer tie rods are ka-ka. Please tell me that these are a normal warranty item. (She has 33.6k mi.)

Normally the tie rod ends are not covered under warranty as there are alot of variables to consider (pot holes, alignment etc) but if you bought the car new and have a good relationship with the dealer there maybe something they can do for you?

I would challenge them on that.
That'* very low mileage for them to wear out.
Have the dealer check them to be sure that the tire shop is not mistaken.

If you don't get satisfaction from the dealer, go to Pontiac Customer Service rep. back at headquarters and file a claim.

I had a tie rod changed under warranty (aftermarket). There is a TSB on tie-rods and they have a newer type they replace them with now.

Thanks for the replies. I was informed by 3 different tire guys that they are shot.

I just called the service department where we bought my wife'* GTP Comp G. Best service dept. I've ever encountered. Unfortunately, they are 1.5hrs. away. They verified that the tie rods are covered. I have an appt. this Friday at the closest Pontiac dealer to me. Wouldn't ever use their sales dept. Never tried their service dept. We'll see.

The dealership where I bought the SSEi will never see my face again. I brought the car to them because of warped rotors at 21k mi. They charged me $450!! I called Pontiac Customer Service and got a refund.
