Hi everyone:

Well, it looks like I got/have the "trifecta".

1. Check Gas Cap notification -> and thus Service Engine Soon light
2. Oil Pressure Sensor - oil pressure reads 120
3. Both rear windows do not work.

All of this happened within the last few weeks.

It looks like i was lucky enough to get all three of the "major problems".

I have a 2002 SSEi in mint (well other than these problems now) with 65,000 miles on it.

What do I do for the gas cap - I read on here that getting a new one doesn't help?

Then I have to get a new Oil Pressure Sensor and new window regulators?

What code is showing up for the gas cap? Slow leak detected? Generally a smoke test is needed to locate the problem. Or you can start replacing lines, or PM me about another option.

The oil pressure sender is a easy fix, jack it up, jack stand, remove right front wheel and splash guard. Unplug sensor and remove. A small amount of oil will come out. Put in new sensor and reverse everything, your done.

Window regulators are more of a pain. You need to remove the inside panel and remove the regulator, then put new on in.

I am not sure what code is coming up for the gas cap - I assumed it was just the general Check Gas Cap warning that displays in the information center as everyone else had gotten...?

I have a 2003 SSei with 70K miles.. I had a "real" gas cap message in that my cap had come loose.(?) I replaced it, but the Gas Cap message kept displaying. (I never got a check engine light though). Checked under the hood where one of the Evap lines makes a "U" turn right into the throttle body, that connection felt loose so I fixed it. Not sure if that really caused it since the cap was actually off.. So to fix.. I just disconnected the battery for at least 30 minutes and it never came back on.

Oil Pressure sender.. Been there done that.. Right above the oil filter.. Easy to get to. There isn't a wheel shroud you can remove on these cars. So I just removed the oil filter on the next oil change, and replaced the sensor as it is just north of the filter (no I don't buy my parts from ACDelco.. They are the piece of crap that failed the first time). Been nearly 5.5 years, and the Advance Auto replacement sensor has worked fine.. Lasted longer than the original.

Code P0440

I bought a new (generic - buy a new genuine one if it really is the problem) gas cap at AutoZone after they did the code test.

I put on over 200 miles and the Check Gas Cap notification in the drivers center still comes on....?

The problem is this can be a crack in a vacuum line or filler tube. You can spend a ton of time and money looking for it or PM me about some options.

Following up on this comment I made.. Oil pressure sender from Advance was leaking today, went and replaced it (again).. So I guess it lasted "somewhat" longer than the factory unit.. ACDelco'* just register a maxed out oil pressure gauge, the aftermarket stuff leaks....

Can someone provide more detail on how to check these items on a 2003 Bonneville n/a? I am having the gas cap problem and have snaded the filler neck and purchased a new cap. message still on.

I do hear a faint sound coming from the "rear" sort of like the sound of an "air-shock", but it is not the shocks...

Could this be the problem?
