what is Magnasteer?, Do Our Cars [00-05] Have this Magnasteer Option? Mines is a 2000
Well, My Rack And Pin Decided go south on Me. The Metal thing that Holds the Rubber Cushion in Place Just broke off, So everytime I turn the Steering its hitting the car, Completely Unhooked from the Frame. I went to buy a Replacement, a Remanufactured one, And I found some that Said "With And W/O MagnaSteer" I briefly searched what it is, And its some kind of new stuff, GM started using in their cars. But I have no idea if Mine have, Is there a way to Know this? Can A GM Dealer Know?
My car is a 2000 SE.

It'* essentially a speed sensitive variable assist power steering system.
The SSEi'* got it, but I don't believe the SE'* did.
As I understand it, it is RPO NV8, so you should be able to look on your RPO tag on your spare tire cover to confirm it.
Dealership should be able to remove any doubt.

Dealers where I live aint worth about a Penny. Trying to get info like this from them is like Pulling a Power Steering Pulley With Your Bare Hands. They like when You're buying not Inquiring, Let alone questioning.
But, SE'* are usually Base-Everything.
I don't think They would've Used it in SE cars. GM might've probably used the Magnasteer Term/option as a Marketing tactic to Sell more of the High end/Performance Vehicles, Likely the SLE'* And SSEi'*.. e.t.c.
