should we get the 2000?
Hello all....it has been a little while sence i have posted....been realy busy....long story....well here is the deal....I bought a 96 bonneville for a work car a little while ago for a work car and fell in love with it. well....the wife and I have been looking at something newer for her.....she saw a black 2000 SSEi, she loves it....its got the HUD, Leather, CD, sunroof, the works....it is a realy nice looking car....if I remember correctley it has somewhere in the neighborhood of 80k miles on it....they are asking eather 12k or $12,500 for it. This sound about right? We both realy like it. We just do not want to make a hasty choice that we may kick our selves for...we plan to pay cash for it.....what do you guys think?
Thanks in advance,

I was thinking the same thing as Toasty....10-11 would be more in line. I paid 11 for mine (which was below book) about a year ago with approximately the same miles on it.
Take the list of common failures to your friendly neighborhood mechanic and have him check it out really well. Other than that, I'll be glad to see to see another 2000 SSEi come into the fold.

I'd offer 11 though, they are nice cars, I have never driven a 2000+ ssei but have played with a 2000se once and yes very good handling at least for such a big 4 dr car

You can find out the value of it on www.kbb.com . I have no regrets in buying my 2000 SLE...it had 31k on it when I bought it last year....they were selling around here for 12-13k... The only complaint I have is that the headrests on the seats are basically useless...but I guess I'm not supposed to be resting when driving anyhow! Other than that...I am totally happy with my choice.
