Default Rear brakes on a 01 ssei

How hard is it to change rear brakes on an 01 SSEI. I need to change them bad and last time I rotated the tires I noticed the calipers bolted on kind of funky. I only seen 1 bolt I think, could be wrong. Anyone change them before?

they are easy.

remove the one caliper bolt and then rotate the caliper away from the bracket. the pads are held onto to the bracket. The pads are clipped to the bracket. remove the pads and then reinstall the new pads

Won't the calipers have to be drawn back to allow for enough clearance? The new pads will be wider than the old. I'm only asking because I was thinking about doing it myself(already did the front pads & rotors)

thanks

You'll likely also have to remove the clamp that holds the emergency brake cable to the lower control arm, or it will fight you when you try to swing up the caliper.

Put a large C clamp around the caliper, and the other end on the outside pad. Depress just a little, just enough to move it I believe the spec is about 1 mm. Anything more than that can destroy the caliper. The piston has to be spun back in, not depressed like the fronts. You can buy a spanner wrench at sears, or use pliers or vise grips. Be careful not to damage the boot around the piston.
