i know i bought a car with problems, but come on!
thinking lemon more and more...
not gonna complain, just gonna start to mention the problems...
first of all, the entire ABS system is disabled because the WSS are disconnected because 1 or more sensors are bad... this means i have no ABS during winter, not good. with these sensors disconnected it displays "service stability system" on the DIC. along with that, the "anti-lock" and "trac off" lights are displayed.
i do not have the time or money right now to replace the hubs, but i think the following problrms is not related to this system.
about a month ago, the first day it snowed, i starting having this problem where when i would start the car, and all the above lights would go off.. i think wow, it fixed itsself. then i put it in gear and start to drive. as soon as the gas pedal is pushed, the car brakes by itself, the more you apply gas, the more it brakes, to a complete stop. to bypass it, you can LIGHTLY hold your foot on the brake, enough that it applies, and then the gas pedal works freely, driving around with the brake slightly applied... NOT COOL...
it is completely randon, but only during start up. it will switch back to its normal mode sometimes seconds after startup, sometimes minutes and miles away. i thought i could make it go normal by doing a burnout or turning sharp turns, but those were only coincedences that they shut off the stupid error.
i have narrowed it down to the front passenger callipers applying more than the driver side if that has anything to do with it.
problem 2, the transmission has been acting funny for the last week. was PERFECT until one day when i shifted out of gear and it SLAMMED into gear, like this..
WRONG LINK PREVIOUSLY POSTED
once driving, the trans jerk and bob all over, making the RPM'* unstable... after a couple minutes the problem will just vanish... meaning this has to be electrical and not my 12,000 mile tranny going already....

I understand you haro, i had several problem too
the last one is just solve (2 days ago) and i had that problem since october, ...my engine was running too rich...
and i had the "service stability system" too, wich is because of my steering wheel positionning sensor.
one WSS, 3 bearing... intermediate shaft , etc...
I was thinking lemon too since i connect to Bonnevilleclub, then i saw that many people had those common problem.
I was desperate last week, wasnt able to find out my problem, i was at 1 inch to sell , burn ,crap it ...now that the problem is solve , i fall in love again... PCM and rocker are comin
All that to say that may be they need much care but they still worth it.

you guys know that i bleed bonnie blood...but i must say that honest issues like these are exactly what is causing me to look hard at a 2000 TL instead of the bonnie. I could well afford a 2000 SSEi...but I don't think i can afford the aftershocks. also, i am seriously thinking that if it could be done, a 99 with a complete interior swap from a 2000 would be absolutely my dream. haro, what do you say about the wind noise and rattles/shakes on the 2000 versus your old bonnie? (1995?)

No rattles on my Bonne after 5 years.....knock on wood.
You have to keep up with maintenance.
Haro, you know what you bought and how it was driven. You have to expect to fix all these problems.
I must have one of the "good ones" ......or I just don't have enough miles on her yet, because I have not experienced any of your problems.
Shifting out of gear and slamming it back in was definitely not a good thing to do.
