Default Need Advice and Assistance - LIM

The more time I spend on this forum, the more projects I want to tackle!

I am not super mechanically inclined, but I can do my own brakes and can follow instructions if given. With that said:

1. Is replacing the LIM something I can do myself?
2. Another thread discussed injector rings, thermostat, and other gaskets to be replaced, can I do those as well?
3. What about the upper intake? Is that needed and if so, how difficult?
4. How long would this project take, approximately?
5. What coolant should I replace the Dex Cool with? Is the reformulated DexCool any better, or should I just use the Prestone High Mileage.
6. Any good instructional resources (pics, etc.) for this process

So many questions, I appologize, but I am eager to learn about my Bonneville and keep her running for many years to come, now that she is paid for.

Ok, I know I am replaying to my own message, but I did further research, and this is what I have come up with based on Google and searching this site:

1. It looks like it, a few bolts and some brake cleaner, right?
2. Still need this one answered.
3. I understand this relationship now, but I need to know which is better, the APN or the Dorman. Autozone carries the Dorman and it'll run about the same price as the APN after shipping.
4. Still need answered.
5. Ditto.
6. I found one that seems very good here: http://www.autopartsdirecttoyou.info/?p=37
but what I guess I need to know is if subscribing to one of these online repair manual sites will give me the step by step instructions for projects like this?
7. What are the "coolant elbows" and where to they go?

Is it something you can do? I think most anyone with confidence, willingness and basic tools can do it.

APN and Dorman both have very good complete kits these days.

Coolant..take your choice, if the plastic lower intake gaskets are what we are worried about, then the aluminums are the answer and should fix the issue. I've seen the plastic gaskets collapsing with every type of coolant. My theory is heat has a lot to do with the breakdown and the coolant is a suspect, but not the only culprit.

O rings T stat..you'll be right there. Do them.

Time wise.. it'* tough to say how fast you will work. If you are fairly good around mechanical things etc, say 6 hours, 8 if you have trouble. There'* a guy on another forum I frequent, he picked it up and ran ... 4 hours later he was done. In my book, that'* fast for a first time.

coolant elbow is Dorman part number 47065

Matter of fact, here'* some info I put together a while back.
