I just recently had my transmission go out on my 2K Bonneville SSEi and was thinking of replacing it with a manual instead of the 4T65E-HD. Does anybody know if there is a transmission that can handle the power and will fit in the same space?
Thanks

I seem to remember there was someone trying to do that with a 4t80. Don't remember if he ever got it working.

The 4T80 is an automatic Dan.. and that'* PontiacJeff, yes it'* done, yes it works.

A few W body guys have put the G6'* 6 speed into their cars. It'* possible, and does take a decent about of fabbing/modding. There'* a local Regal buddy of mine that I'll be helping with this as soon as his funding is in place. He has almost all the parts and transmission. I'll be supplying the cradle off a Regal I gutted last week for mockup of transmission mounts. Heck, I'll probably be supplying a motor too.

Looks like it gives you everything you'd get with a shifter lever, plus TC control. Without a clutch...it'* not what I'd call a manual.

BTW, if you are looking for this, that gives me an idea. You have a pm on the way.
