I have a 2000 SSei.
Has any one had problems with the ¨check gas cap ¨ light coming on, which in turn will activate the ¨service engine soon¨ light? I have had the gas cap replaced once, but 2 days later the same warning lights.....
Any ideas?

The way a fuel pump (gas station) knows when to turn off is the air... so what could happen is you mite have a hole in your filler neck (whitch should be there and theres a tube going to it) that tube mite be disconnected.
this probably doesnt make sence.. but when you think about vacuum and how when the gas drains (from your engine eating it) you need somthing to replace that gas (air) but air cant get though the gas cap.. why you open your gas cap, is it like your opening a bottle of pop?

What exactly does the manual say to do when that light comes on?

I know you are goin to bust my chops about this....and it may sound really dumb. But I refilled Rach'* 2002 Civic yesterday comin down from the cottage and on the gas cap it said..."This cap must click at least 3 times or the Check Engine light might appear"

I assume you are tightening down the cap suffieciently?

and I quess others, you do have to have it click..
