Default #4 Fuel Injector Leak

I've been getting this intermittent fuel odor inside the car especially at idle or standing in traffic. I looked at the fuel rail, the injectors, and the general vicinity on top of the engine for anything obvious. It appears that #4 fuel injector is leaking at the base where it makes up to the lower intake. Has any one else run into this problem. Looks like possible O ring failure.

Not yet Mark, but in the same general area. I had oil seeping past the threads on the lower intake bolts. I took them out and reinstalled them with Permatex 2B coated on the threads. No more seepy seepy.

I would definantly look into replacing all the o rings on the injectors if that looks to be the case.

Prolly about a 1 hr job.

Been doing any work back there lately, plugs, map sensor, vacum lines etc? You may have bumped it and corupted the seal?

Check your fuel supply quick disconnect fitting.
If it is leaking like mine was, the fuel collects around the number 4 injector.
NAPA sells a slick replacement fitting for around $8 that is very easy to install.
The o-rings inside the factory fitting have a tendency to dry out and lose the sealing ability.
See my post for 2002 SLE intermittent fuel smell.
