Ok, I now have a check engine light coming on. Where do you hook up the code scanner?
My local parts store will hook it up for free and get me the codes. Also any advice on an affordable(cheap) scanner to get?

If you plan on keeping your Bonneville running a while longer, a code reader is a good investment. It always help knowing what codes your car is throwing when trying to diagnose issues.

Did you find where the OBD2 port is on your car?

I am going out at lunch to look at the port. I got the engine light this morning when I hammered the throttle and she started to miss slightly. Not a bad miss but evident. I just finished my rear bank of spark plugs on Saturday. Going to check that over again. I might(by laying over the engine for a couple hours) have bumped something? I layed a 4" layer of that memory foam over the engine when doing the plugs. I might have gotten some anti-seize on one of the plugs but I dont think that would set off a check engine light? Its not missing at idle or if I rev it up, has to be under hard load(under boost).
Plug wires are correct in place. I hit the throttle hard before the car was warmed up(about a block from home) and I felt it(slight stammer) but no light came on. After it was at temp, I hit it on the highway and it came on(engine light) under full load.
I have been into Ford vehicles the last 20 years. I like this car as it'* actually fairly easy to work on compared to some of my past vehicles. Going to check over my work and see if anything happened there.
Then it will be a couple days before I can check it out. Will report back cause I am sure I need more help!!!

I agree with buying a scantool. I bought a Innova 3150 recently and love most of its features. It does ABS and emissions checks, which is more utility than was available at the $150 mark a few years ago.
I'm hoping you find a plug wire not seated and a misfire code. When combustion pressures go up (wide open throttle) sparks dont want to jump the plug gap anymore, they want to go somewhere else.

I ran it some more last night. I pulled all my plugs(I have new wires). They look ok but its not a real bad miss. Almost like detonation somewhat. Since last night and yesterday, no check engine light again. I filled up with gas and high octane, best here is like 91(4200 ft elevevation). The plugs look ok but they probably would if I have a miss like this. It could be one of the new wires also. Going to stop by and have the code checked. No miss at idle or revving it up. It almost feels like a load of bad gas. I put a fuel filter on about 2 months ago when I got the car. Lets see what the code reads and then I will know more and get back to everyone. I do appreciate the help. As most of us, I tried to be pro active and go over things when I got this car and it seems I step in crap with the right foot and put my left foot in to get my right foot out!!
