Of all the days my Bonne had to decided to die and not restart it had to be today.
25 degrees and snowing and 10+ miles from home!!

Would the crank position sensor cause the car to just die, and then after a couple of tries start again only to die again 1 minute later and then not restart?
I got it to start once, and with the gas pedal to the floor but wouldn't go above 2000 rpm and felt very rough. Shortly after taking my foot off the gas it died and hasn't started again.
I've been getting an intermittant SES light for the crank position sensor for a few weeks also.

From what I've read it doesn't look all that difficult. Just need to remove the right front wheel, the inner fender, then just need to get a puller to take the crank pulley off. Right?

Only problem is that I can't get it into my garage, and there is now like 6 inches of snow on the ground.

i've done the same thing to my car. before you pull the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) off you first have to figure out how to get the motor to stop turning over! we pulled the cover off the starter and shoved a screwdriver into the flywheel teeth. worked pretty well. good luck!

At 25 degrees I would try a bottle of dry gas first. Then go after a spark issue if that doesn't do it. But then again you were getting the code.

This could also be the fuel pressure regulator......

It could also be 400 other things. But he'* got codes for the crank sensor.

I hear what you are saying but I had crank sensor codes and also had a bad fuel pressure regulator. His comment about the pedal to the floor reminds me of a fuel pressure regulator symptom. I just did my crank sensor yesterday and I didn't have the exact same things going on as what he said. He could have an intermittently bad crank sensor and a bad fuel reg at the same time, like I had...... The fuel reg is an easy check. Just look and smell for gas in the vacuum line. I've also seen the plastic part of the vacuum line to the reg be cracked and cause bad reg symptoms.

Just replaced the crank position sensor yesterday, and the car still won't start.
Going to check to see if there is any spark. Would the same procedure for a 95 SSEi work for my 2001 SSEi? (Manuals that I still have from my old Bonny) Or is there a better way of doing it.
Is it unusual for ignition system (if this is the problem) to go out completely like this?
