Traction Control- Can't Disengage

Traction Control- Can't Disengage
Has anyone experienced a problem with getting their traction control to disengage? I rarely disengage it, but last evening my brother pulled up beside me in his Grand Prix GTP............ yep, he tromped my butt cause I could not deactivate the system. I mashed hard and the engine just backed down! I don't know if my brother believes my excuse or not. 
I can press that button 100 times and maybe, MAYBE she will deactive one time. Most of the time, NOT.
Might this be a dirty contact issue or something more evil? I tried to work contact cleaner down underneath the button but the tolerance was too tight and that did not work. Several months ago I remember it would take me maybe 10-15 pushes to get the darn button to work. Now it seems its out totally. I guess it is better this way than to have traction control inactive permanently, huh?

It sounds like the switch is faulty. However, even if the switch did work you still have traction control with a bonneville, the tc switch is only a delay not a totaly off state.
To completely disable traction control you need to pull your Wheel Speed Sensors (wss), this can be done by reaching around your front tires and feeling for the electrical connector, after you've unplugged them you will get an error on your dic but this will not hamper performance.
