Default 2000 SSE rear shocks

Is there anything special that must be done to replace the rear shocks on a 2000 SSE? This is the first time I'm getting involved with a self-leveling system. Is changining the shocks as simple as disconnecting the air hose, remove the shock, replace with new and reconnect the air hose?

TIA

yes it is

and for future reference, if you could put your year and trim level (SE, SLE, SSEi) in your signature it makes it alot easier for us when you ask questions

I've been buying all my parts from https://www.rockauto.com/applet3.html

Good prices, reliable, and get parts in 2 days. Actually, i'll probably order the rear shocks from them. They offer Monroe'* for $59.79 and two different ACDelco shocks, $91.79 & $109.99

By the way, has anyone used the Monroe shocks or is it better to stay with the ACDelco units????

I haven't used the Monroes on this car (thought that was what I was ordering - but ended up with something else) but have on others. My personal preference is to use the Monroes. I do not think that they come with the mounts, and I agree with Toasty. The mounts really should be replaced at the same time. They have been known to be an issue.

I have to replace mine soon aswell, and was thinking the monroes

delcos run about 110 each shipped from GMPD and rock auto.
monroes are 70 each plus 26 for the mount at advance auto parts

$110 vs $96

Correction, the Monroes are $70 for the pair and it'* $26 each for the mounts. I just did the swap on my car a few weekends ago. Nothing to it really!
