Default 2002 Bonneville driver door

Alright, in my '02 bonneville the drivers door doesn't have any power in itself, I can unlock my door with the remote or manually, but when I hit unlock, or roll the windows down nothing happens, the door is dead, the other doors work however.

Has anyone had this problem, or would anyone know what it is?

Thanks,
ottoman89

each door contains its own module. take off the door panel and make sure everything is still connected and there are no broken or pinched wires. If everything checks out, you might try swapping modules with another door that you know works. Let someone else verify that this will work, as I know each door has its own part number. Darcy?

its haRofreak00, not halo

taking off the door panel isn't super hard, but you want to make sure to be careful, if you break something, it will be spendy.

All you need to do is get an upholstery/panel remover from Advance or Autozone, and start at the bottom corner and gently pry it up. Once you get all the way around the door, just be careful and unhook everything. As has been said be careful. The master switch module is around 80 bucks.

The driver door module (DDM) is unique from the other three doors in the car and therefore can't be swapped. What makes it a little different is that it is a gateway between the communication bus connecting the rest of the vehicle and the door subsystem.

As haro states, you'll want to make sure everything is still connected. If your remote works, your door isn't completely dead as the signal is received and processed by the DDM to operate the locks. Just to be sure I understand, your remote will lock and unlock ALL four doors?

Do you hear any faint clicking inside the driver door when you try and use the window control?

Do your power mirrors function?

Does the backlighting on the driver door switches work at night?

Does the power window lock-out switch work?

Do you have an SE, SLE or SSEi (Also, please add this information to your profile)?

If you have an SSEi, do your memory switches work?

My remote starter does indeed work on all four doors.

Every door (Passenger, back passenger and back driver) can roll there own windows down.

However, on my door. The Unlock/Lock button does not work, the adjust mirrors switch and know doesn't work, and the window up/down switches do not work.

Are you sure all your connections are good?? There are different pllugs are they all plugged in??

Have you checked fuses?? There are two panels one under the hood and one under the seat near the battery.

There are also a couple circuit breakers under the seat in the fuse panel.

Although worth double checking, this is unlikely a fuse or circuit breaker problem based on the symptoms described. There is obviously power getting to the DDM or other functions would not work (ie locking and unlocking of the other doors via the remote). If it were windows alone that didn't function I'd consider the power window circuit breaker, but since mirrors and door locks don't work either this isn't likely the problem. I think we are looking at one of the following:

Bad switch control in the driver door.
Bad Driver Door Module.
Problem with the remote starter.

ottoman89, please answer ALL questions. You still haven't posted:

1. If you've removed the door panel to check connections.
2. What the trim level of your car is.
3. Whether the backlighting works on the driver door controls.

I did not understand what you meant by "the adjust mirrors switch and know doesn't work". What did you mean by this?

What type of remote started did you have installed?
