Default DTC P1870 (Transaxle Component Slipping (4T60-E Trans)

Hey all,
Haven't been here for awhile, but Ol Bonnie'* acting up again. I've had lots of problems with the manifold area in the past (last was in August). Yesterday the check engine light went on and I thought it sounded a little rough. When I went out to my car last night after work, I popped the hood and noticed the coolant was low (same as last summer when my upper intake manifold had a leak). Filled up with coolant and took it to autozone and they said the DTC code was P1870 and apparently this has something to do with the transaxle component slipping. I called the dealer to make an appointment for 8am Friday since I suspect the genuine gm parts they put in last august may have broke, but they said the code has nothing to do with that. Meantime, the check engine light has gone off....I suspect because I added the coolant. I also suspect that by tomorrow, I'll be low on coolant again and the light will come back on. I guess my question is....does any of this make sense?

Yes it makes sense you have a Bonneville and the Bonneville loves a drink. Just like alot of the prominent members on this board. LOL

Seriously I would take it back after getting a time required for a noticeable drop in fluid.

Your transaxle is probably not your problem.
