Default Monroe Econo-Matic and or Monroe Quick-Strut

Hey guys,
I was thinking of replacing my front struts with Monroe Econo-Matic or Monroe Quick-Strut witch i viewed on rockauto site..The prices are great for either one and they are easy to install..However are they recommended or good qaulity for the 2000s bonneville ssei?
Thanks.

I just installed the monroe quickstruts (and control arms, tie rod ends, etc) on my SE. Easy install, and cheap. At least cheap compared to buying inserts, bearing plates, etc. Car drives like new again, with 234K on it.

I think the springs are different for the SSEI, though, and I dont think monroe offers a spring for >SE rates. It would still work, just not as "sporty".

Thanks for your responce TEDRO951.. I tried kyb and the are pretty stiff on pot holes/bumps.. i hear monroes are smoother over bumps and kyb are made that way .

which kyb'* did you get? kyb'* are a little stiffer but they have more control and last a long time. if you want soft go with the stuff meant for the se.

Not sure what KYBs were installed..I know they were for my application and the mechanic warned me that they are stiffer and not as smooth on bumps but stronger..he was correct! takes bumps hard..That was about a year in a half ago and its seems the mounts are making thumpings noises when turning..so was thinking of just changing whole unit to monroe.

if they didnt change the strut mounts when they changed the struts, they are probably bad. the ball joints make that noise too.
