Default Cruise control

My cruise stopped working about two weeks ago for no reason. It did this about four years ago, but just started working again on its own. So I am trying to figure out where to start diagnosing this problem and how. I checked the fuse and made sure the wires to the box all looked good and where plugged in, but that was all so far and it all looked good. Any ideas or anyone else have this problem?

Any of the switches for the cruise control (on/off, resume, set) can cause a problem. One place to start looking is the stop light switch for the ABS/TCC which also controls the release of the cruise, for proper operation.

Were do I find that Archon? I am fairly confident that the switches are intact and okay. But again not 100% sure. Just wondering if there is something I can test in the wire harness to see if it is getting power or what. This is a tough one.

It is down by the brake pedal - the top switch.

IIRC, a faulty throttle position sensor can also cause problems with the cruise. I'd expect there to be other issues also if that was bad.

Problem solved. Was the brake sensor.
