Default Coolant Leak

I have coolant pooling below the SC in the wells around the fuel injectors. It does not look like a major leak and I don't have a coolant smell, but I can't figure out where it is coming from.

Any ideas?

Can you tell us EXACTLY where it is? Very specifically? Maybe take a pic of it?

I call that the "ice cube tray." I made the term up myself.

I'm not all that familiar with the L67, but doesn't the blower take the place of a UIM willwren?

Here is the address to a picture:

In the center of the picture, you can just see a small dark area. That is the pool of coolant.

It would appear that your lower intake manifold gaskets are starting to leak. Or the supercharger to base is leaking...but that is near the throttle body and the other end of the manifold.

BRB.. Link incoming.

Boost'* LIM gasket swap thread

Only thing you don't do is clean the supercharger inlet or rotors with anything. ps..Intake cleaner will peel the epoxy off your rotors.

I modified Bill'* quote for clarity.

Also I might mention that the throttle body has a gasket too that could be the culpret. Coolant is routed around the throttle body to prevent the butterfly valve from icing up. At least that'* what willwren says.

Looks like the fix is going to be a full weekend job. Is there any danger in waiting a few weeks to take care of it? Can this eventually cause any other problems like coolant in the crank case?

I'd agree that you are likely starting to get some seepage from the LIM gasket. Then the coolant starts working its way up the threads on the bolts for the LIM. I've run into this on at least a couple of engines. The location of your puddle appears to be too far removed from the throttle body to be coming from there.

Yes..the leak is too far away for this to be from the throttle body.

(Mac..thanks..lol)

Timewise it is impossible to say how long it will last before coolant might spring a leak internally. It might only leak externally, or it may already be leaking internally. It is a gamble.

yes.. give yourself a weekend.

Several have heard my story.. Got mine home the day after buying it and every one of those valleys had coolant in them.. I only had 21K miles on my '03 at the time..

Pull that SC and intake and get after it.
