Default drivers seat heater shorting out

I have a 2000 Bonneville SSEi with driver and passenger seat heaters. When i go to turn on the drivers side heater the light will come on for only a second and then shuts off. It will shut off if it is either turned on high or low. I had already checked the fuse and it is fine. with these cold days it would come in handy some days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

The heating element in the seat is most likely your culprit. To fix it a new element set will have to be put in. Everything that I've seen points to just putting a new kit in while leaving the old one attached to the seat cover. Mine hasn't worked since I bought mine in October. Passengers seem to enjoy their side though...

This is a thread where a repair was done to the seat heater.

Pardon the interruption to this thread, but I just HAVE to give Archon a high five! As I read the thread I was thinking... "now wasn't there a recent posting where someone actually repaired a heated seat..."

Then low and behold, Archon posts a link to it!

This isn't the first time that the always dependable Archon has come through for BCers. I Just want to make sure you know how much I appreciate your consistency and reliability. We all know we can count on you. This is like the 500th time I've had that thought, so this time I had to say something!

So Archon, Thanks for looking out for all of us!
