clearing codes
Is there a way to clear ses codes without using the Tech 2 or a scantool. I know on some older GM'*, you could turn the key to acc, tap the brake turn the key back...and so on. Is there a similar way to do it with our cars.

Disconnect the battery and wait for 1 hour before reconnecting will work for most codes. But that wont tell you the problem so you wont to what to look for to fix it?
Most autozones will read and clear the code for you free of charge.

Thanx PontiacDad I already know the problem, it'* just that I don't want to keep running to my friends at the dealrship to hook up the Tech 2 and clear them. Im in Canada,.....so there is no Autozone, or Pepboys....or even a O'Reily'* around here. We have Canadian Tire (kinda like Canadian version of a Wal-mart....only smaller)....which will charge you. PartsSource...which is owned by Canadian Tire...(It'* pretty much the whole automotive section at Crappy tire with more crap. And then we have UAP / Napa..which is great for parts, but they can't clear codes for you. Something about a computer void warrenty disclaimer..pretty much they don't want to get blamed for "touchin your 'puter"...as the employee told me. So I will try the battery thing and let you know how it turn'* out

If this is regariding your previous post on the evap system, you can keep resetting the code but it will continue to come back until the problem is fixed. Also, the code really shouldn't be reset without confirming the cause.
