Help me remove airbox, 2004 LeSabre
I am an idiot. I can't even begin to figure out how to remove the stock airbox on my 2004 LeSabre L36:
It doesn't seem to be as easy or straightforward as on my 1998 LeSabre, and I don't want to break it.
Help!

We will need closer pics. However it'* going to come down to a little gentle tugging to find out where the hold points are. Also .. you probably need to remove the PCM from it first.

I posted that pic because:
1) It'* the only one I have right now of the 2004 engine
2) I hope it will demonstrate whether or not the LeSabre is "same enough" as a Bonnie for you Bonnie guys to help me out with this
I'll try to get better pics posted...in the meantime, for Bonnie folks, how do you remove your airbox? Are there some hidden bolts or screws somewhere?
I know on my 1998 there are two small phillips screws right on top of the box at the front and the box comes right off...I see nothing of the kind on the 2004 :?

It'* exactly the same as the Bonneville yes; 2000-2004 Bonneville/LeSabre are all the same. I just did mine a few days ago. I'll get some pics and some instructions up in a few hours from now.

I was wondering WTF BillBoost37was talking about the PCM for, until the ALLDATA post was put up...
Is the PCM really INSIDE the air cleaner box? Does that keep it nice and fresh or what
?

Yes, it'* really in there. There has been speculation that the reasoning is anything from cooling, to protecting it from the weather. However, people with cold air, or fender well intakes have not had any issues with the PCM being exposed.

?Err, was it INTENSE or ZZP? Or both?
At any rate, yes, that'* where the PCM is.

It'* actually in the base, below the airbox. However the plastic is all one basic unit.
