Hi,

I am wanting to paint my "not so good" looking brake calipers and my exhaust tips on my 2002 SSEi.

There was just a brand new exhaust system put into the car a few months ago, but I would like to paint the tips to a metal-ish color - I think, lol.

The same with the brake calipers...

I kind of want the car to continue to look stock, so I dont want to "chrome" them, but just get them to sort of match the rest of the metal on the car.

I am thinking of using brake caliper paint for both the calipers and the tips, any idea of what color?

Silver, aluminum, or??

How about gun metal?

Charcoal grey is a good choice. If you put Duplicolor 1200* ceramic paint on first, you can paint them any color you want. You could match your car exactly if you wanted. Ive done it on three cars and no problems. Clean the calipers first with brake cleaner, then go to town

I used Dupli-Color High Performance Caliper Paint with Ceramic Kit. Part Number BCP400 Red Caliper Kit. This is a great kit and I really like the look of the Calipers in Red for my car which is Black with Chrome Wheels. It is a brush on kit and comes with the cleaner, brust and paint. Easy to do and the results are excellent.

On the Exhaust tips I just painted them with Dupli-Color DAP 1698 Black Primer. This looked good on my car which is black. Kind of a stealth look for a black car. The idea of painting the tips with the Caliper paint is a good one also.

You can buy the Caliper paint at Advance Auto parts and the Black Primer at Pep Boys.

This is a good inexpensive mod to do to your car that will look nice.

What about just buying new calipers and rotors for both the front and back and spraying them with a clear coat or something of the sort?

I think that would look nicer than painting the present rusty calipers and rotors... ?

If I went that way, would I need to buy anything other than the calipers and rotors?
