Default Oil life gauge

I need to know how to reset the oil life gauge on my 2000 SSEi. I changed the oil very recently and the gauge still says 50% oil life. I tried to do a search for this but couldn't come up with anything.

You can either get the info from the owner'* manual or get a GM Service Dept to do it for you!

I never actually thought about reading the owner manual. Thanks I'll give it a try.

Select the oil life setting and hold down the reset button until it is reset.
That'* right and it'* also how you reset the average mileage and low tire pressure.
