Default Cabin air filter - arrow up or down?

What way should the arrow point on a new cabin air filter? Point up, or point down? And, does it even really matter?

I'm not sure, but the part of the filter that faces the front of the car folds down back under itself when installed...small part on the bottom, as I recall.

As Jim said the arrow should go in the same direction as the air flows through it. If it'* the same as the one in my Bonneville, part of the filter folds under and that would be the bottom.

Acutall havnt looked at mine since I got it.....hmmm. I know FORD ones the arrow points down into the blower box area, so arrow/air goes into the system.

Do 3800 powered cars flow the same way?

I say point the arrow towards the direction of air flow into your blower box..... more than likely down....
