You will need a mirror off an SSEi (2000-2003) or a GXP (2004-2005). All mirrors are not the same. The SSEi and GXP are different because they are heated and have a memory function. The SE won't have heat or memory and the SLE typically are heated but don't have memory. As for bolt pattern, they are all the same in that respect. You could use one of the other mirrors, but you would lose memory and possibly heat on the passenger side.

well this is what the website says..

2004
Mirror-Door
Pontiac Bonneville
Electric, w/memory seat opt (A45), RH- 000
$100

im guessing that would mean it has the memory option right? so would it work? im not worried about the heat as much due to the fact that if im not able to see out the mirror due to frost or whatever that i could just simply look out the rear-view mirror to switch lanes to the right.

This may not be too surprising. A lot will depend on their source. For example, almost every part I've ever needed or ordered for my car has come from Lansing Michigan. This means it'* 7-10 business days before it arrives at my local dealership. If the shop is getting one from a wrecker, it may take a day or two for them to pull it, then there'* shipping (usually ground). It'* already Thursday and with the weekend, it kills two days right there.

This will work. If it has memory, it WILL be heated as well. This works to your advantage. Not all heated mirrors have memory though. Your only issue will be matching colour. I would also inquire about what their warranty is.

You could clean it up a little and use a spray can, but I would recommend a professionally applied paint. This would at least get you back on the road again, even if the colour didn't match. You may find a body shop that could paint it up sooner than Tuesday, but if body shops there are anything like they are here, you may be waiting a while. Even in a city of 1 million plus, it'* not uncommon to wait several weeks to get into a body shop here, especially in the winter

well the person i know has already ordered the new part but has said it can be cancelled if i can get this part so it wouldnt be an issue getting into the actual shop.

and it says theres no damage to the part at all so im thinking it would be a good idea.

It is certainly a consideration. Like Danthurs said, sometimes shops don't like to do this but it seems they may be okay with it (at least in this case). If there'* no damage to the mirror and it will help you get this fixed up a little sooner, I'd say you should consider it (read on though). Usually wreckers will give a 90 day warranty on parts. You won't know for sure if the adjuster and heater works until it'* on the car. The only caution I have is that if there is a problem with the mirror, the wrecker will likely warranty the part BUT won't cover any additional time it takes the shop to remove and replace. The shop won't likely give you a break either since you'd be supplying the part yourself. As long as you understand this going in, I'd say go for it.

the guy is a family friend so im sure that he would help me out with whatever but im thinking im just going to go ahead and pick up that part because waiting to tuesday is not really an option with my schedule.

so im going to call and cancel the order on the part the shop ordered and go ahead and try to pick this part up sometime tommorow hopefully.
