Hold the garage door opener up to the homelink console. Press and hold the button to open the door, and press and hold the button of your choosing on the homelink console to program. The light in the little house icon will come on, then blink rapidly when programming is complete.
Ofcourse, all of this info is in your owners manual so if I forgot something, you can check there.
I just did this on both my Bravada and Bonneville for my garage door opener in my garage and it took less than 15 seconds per vehicle. Took longer to walk between them both than to actually program them...

First you have to hold the outside two buttons on the homelink until the light comes on to clear the current code. Then if you have a door opener that changes codes every time it'* used, there is some added steps to the above. You push the smart button on the opener, then you have thirty seconds to push the homelink button. I think you hold the button a couple seconds, and then have to do it a second time or something.

You do not have to clear out what is already in there, but it isn't a bad idea. And yes, a newer rolling-code opener will require 2 or more programming runs for the homelink transmitter to learn the algorithm that is used to change the codes.
