Default Replaced the LIM Gaskets...

Hey Guys,

This past weekend I replaced the LIM gaskets on my car, and gotta say thanks to Danthurs. What a help you were with answering questions along the way and the forum for having tech info!!! Certainly a huge help they were and made the project go smoothly...

Here are a few pictures from the repair...I must say, i was VERY surprised to see the shape of the gasket and ports...with my car being a 2005 and just under 91000 miles with NO signs of any leakage problems (never smelled burned coolant) I was expecting better. Sure glad I got around to it now...wish I would have done it sooner...

Will be doing a complete flush of the cooling system this weekend hopefully. Planning on draining the radiator (does anyone have pictures of the drain plug..i hear its on the drivers side) and filling with water, pulling the upper radiator hose going to radiator and letting it run for a bit...Has anyone ever tried the "Coolant Flushing" product which supposedly gets added to the cooling system about 200 miles before flushing. Its supposed to go through and clean everything..anyone ever tried this? Just wondering your opinions...

Thanks for your replies and a great forum!

Good job. And it was needed. I've seen leakage after only a year. OEM LIM gaskets are junk.

Atom,

I ordered mine from Intense...( http://www.intense-racing.com/ ) and I would assume they would ship to you. You will have to do some searching around there website to see what they have offered for the 3800 Series I, not sure how different the two motors are as far as LIM...

Let us know if you have any other question!
