If you're going to be replacing pulleys, whiy not just do them all, then? They aren't that expensive, and all have about the same "miles" on them.

The #3 pulleys in the picture would be the ones to start with, then 8, then 9.

The cover plate is just a cover plate. Nothing under it but coolant. You will want to replace the gasket for this plate though, as they are known to leak over time/miles.

This statement is the largest pile of BS I've heard this week.

Someone please find me 1 post here on the club where someones cover plate gasket leaked.

I had to take it off a couple of years ago and change the gasket.

I had to take it off a couple of years ago and change the gasket.
I don't see why... the gasket can easily survive the alkaline caustic soda from the hot tank can't it? :P

That was the very first leak that this car had.
Not a big leak, just a drip every time I shut her down and it would accumulate on the trani.....you know the spot Boosty....the one you lost a bolt to during your LIM gasket change.

From then on, all coolant gaskets go on with a smear of hi temp RTV. I don't trust that tiny bead of red that runs around factory gaskets.
