So I'm upgrading the front sway bar to a GXP. I tried everything but dropping the subframe to get the old one out and I can't see a way to get it out without hanging up on the exhaust or brake lines. Anybody have another idea? sawgunner is going to give me crap about this til I die (spent about 5 hrs doing it how he said to lol). Ideas used are pull the outer tie rod ends, pull the CV shafts (had to anyways cuz the stock high mileage ones didn't like the new mods) and pull out the passenger side. I'd really like to get the new bar in before I do the transmission pull, but it'* looking like that is what it is going to take.

I don't think you need to compleatly remove the sub frame. I would think you could leave the front 2 bolts tight, remove the 4 rear bolts and lower it enough to sneak the sway bar out. Just remember to seperate the steering shaft from the rack before you lower it too much.

I know for a fact that you don't have to disconnect the steering shaft from the rack...2 bolts and a pry bar and the rack is off of the subframe...I was just trying to find a way to do it without the subframe being dropped in the rear since these cars are kinda limited on jacking points.

I did it without removing anything

You just need to find the right angle and have a lot of arm endurance.

Some of us aren't that lucky. lol

To remove front stabilizer bar:
1. Disconnect exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold
2. Disconnect intermediate exhaust hanger to lower exhaust
3. Remove left tie rod end from steering knuckle
4. Use the right strut to turn completely to the left
5. Remove stabilizer bar
