Default an alterntave to putting money into GM'* pocket?

I want to get a computerised device that will interface with may car.

hear is what I want it to do
read codes (SES codes)
wipe them clean
real time (or close to it) sensor monitor
adjust the temp that the fans turn on at
change the "drivers greeting" on the DIC to whatever suites my fancy
clean my house

so far the only device that I THINK does this is the GM tech 2.
unfortunally for $3000.00 fu*kin dollars it doesnt clean my house.
(hell for that kind of money, I can get my house clean with a BJ to boot)

do you fine folks know of any other devicce that do the things that I want and still be resionable in price

mucho thanks
chad

The only thing that I know of that can actually change things on the PCM is the tech 2. However an autotap will let you monitor basically anything you want. You just won't be able to adjust fan turn on points and stuff. The autotap is ~$300 (I think a little less, but you will need a laptop also). You can get an autotap for $300, an old laptop to use it with ($150-200), and still have $2500 for PCM reprogramming. My suggestions is buy an autotap and a laptop, and then pay $300 or whatever it is to get your PCM custom programmed by DHP.

You can use the home pc with the autotap if its in the garage, the autotap has a 10 foot cord. you can do this for code reads/clears. you will need a portable device to read real time on the road data. There is software for windows and palm with the options of logging so you can play logs back on a pc at a later date.

check out the particluars at www.autotap.com

I purchased mine from www.3800performance.com for about 280.00

if you have a 125V outlet in your car you can just put your computer in the back seat...
