Default Please Help!!

Hi Bonnie Fans-

I own a 2000 SE without a warranty.

My car has been shifting harshly lately. It doesn't do it all the time...only intermittantly. For example...I can be driving along just fine, come to a stoplight. When I go to take off there is a rough transition from 1st to 2nd gear to 3rd gear etc. It is like it is jumping into the next gear...not smooth at all. The car will then shift like this until....

...I turn it off and restart the car. When I do this, the car will shift just fine until it happens again. Sometimes it can go a week in between its "fits."

I just recently had a full service done to my transmission after complaining about it to a dealer...but the thing is they don't know what I'm talking about because it wasn't having a "fit" when I took it in. In reading some previous posts, it sounds like I may need a new Pressure Solenoid Assembly.

What do you guys think?? Anyone with a similar experience??

Any insight is appreciated!

Does it seem to be the torque converter coming in too soon, does it have long legs inbetween shifts (seem like it boging down until the rpms come up). Have you had a tranny flush done, removes loose particles from spool assembley.

I did have a tranny flush done one week ago. It was great for a week...but then it started again last night.

It seems like it is just a touch late on shifting...hence the big "jump" to the next gear. Like I said, it is very intermittent. It may be several weeks before it happens again.

I'd rather nip it in the bud now rather than dropping the tranny later...

What do you think?

With is off again, on again it does seem like something is getting trapped in there then after the car sits for a while the debris is able to settle out and the tranny works fine. Maybe go back to where you had the flush done and see about a new filter and oil change, while its apart have them look for any pieces of metal or gasket material.

Is it heat or cold related?
