Check engine light- Fuel mixture too rich on right bank
This question is related to the "Small rust particles in my gas tank".
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=26029
As a summary, I had contamination in my gas tank that was clogging my fuel filter causing the check engine light to come on. We documented there was quite a bit of crudd in the tank (based on what we were getting out of the fuel filter and then after we removed the tank). We got all of the crudd out of my fuel system by replacing the gas tank and fuel lines (a very sad story to say the least).
Thereafter, at 190 miles, the check engine light came on after a hard acceleration (the first hard acceleration since the work was completed). I took the car into my mechanic and he states the message on his computer reads " Fuel mixture too rich on right bank".
In the case of my fuel filter being clogged from crudd in my tank, and assuming it was causing somewhat of a restriction of fuel to the engine, would the car'* computer compensate for this by adjusting the fuel mixture making it more rich? If in fact the computer compensated making the fuel mixture rich, will the computer compensate back to a proper mixture now that there is no fuel rescriction?
Thank you in advance for any advise!
