Default 3" Downpipe....how, where? Can't seem to get one made.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I stopped at two exhaust shops today, and neither one would do a 3" downpipe for me. One wouldn't give a god explanation as to why, and the other said:

"3 inch is too hard to bend without kinking, and would have a problem sealing against the manifold."

The first reason...I really don't believe. I bend 3" conduit all the time (I'm an electrician), and have yet to kink any. The second...????
Does this have any truth to it... it really would be harder to seal???

I know there are several BC members out there with 2K+ Bonnies that have a 3" DP, soooooo......what advice do you have to give? Any problems with it so far?

Just got back from another muffler shop, and they told me the pipe is already 2 3/4", so going to 3" won't make much of a difference.

A set of headers comes with the down pipe and they run about 600, A good down pipe is about 200 alone. There are some guys selling cheaper downpipes (75-100) but they are no more than crushed pipes with poor welds.

Notice the bottom pics, stock is just over 2" not 2 3/4"

So you could go with ported exhaust mannys and a 3" down pipe but you would be looking at close to $400, for a few hundred more you could have headers?
So far I would have to say headers have been my best performance mod.
