For those experiencing shuddering at higher speeds (45 MPH or 70 MPH), perhaps one thing to check out would be the tires.

Got the car to act up first time when test driving with someone from the dealer. They said "there'* a sprag in my transmission" and they'd have to disassemble and rebuild or replace with remanufactured tranny (100K mile warranty on rebuilt tranny). Guessing it'll be around $2K if done at the dealer. Can anyone relate?

I have the same exact problem, not at 28mph at all as fix... said.

Just spoke to someone thought to be a reputable transmission service shop (been around 20+ years apparently and not too far away). I'm DEFINITELY NOT a tranny person, so excuse if I'm incorrect in any of the following and feel free to correct. I'm learning as I go.

I believe they said my tranny has 2 spags that apparently lock and free-wheel depending on tranny operating requirements (what it'* trying to do at a particular time). They suspect the sprag is going bad and are offering a free test drive/diagnosis. Replacing sprags seem to be considered part of a typical tranny rebuild. A sprag going bad can apparently be like a socket wrench going bad (doesn't lock when it should). Rebuilding the tranny for my 2000 Bonne is coming in at around ($1,200) with 12 month/12K mile warranty. Both dealer and tranny shop give this option. Dealer gives additional option of installing a rebuilt tranny for $1,900 with 3 year/100K mile warranty (whichever comes first). There are probably other options, but that'* what'* currently on the table.

Was hoping it might be something as simple as just flush and refill.
