2001 SSEi windshield washer/sprayer inoperable
Hi,
I just bought a 2001 Bonneville SSEi and noticed the windshield washer pump doesn't do anything when I push the switch in on the right side of the windshield wiper stalk.
I've checked the manual, but there'* no indication that there is a separate fuse for this part of the system. My wipers work fine and as expected.
Does anyone know if there'* a separate fuse? Are there any recommended troubleshooting procedures or tips? I'm going to try finding the pump tonight - under the hood on this car is quite crowded! I assume I'd need to try and come in from underneath?
Any advice is appreciated..

DDalder is very knowledgeable for your year. He will be the best bet to answer your question. He should be on soon. You can try looking at the maxifuse panel under the hood, there might be a relay under there.

The washer motor fuse is in the front right engine compartment fuse box. The pump motor is located inside the washer fluid container.
Make certain you have fluid in the reservoir, if you do, check the fuse. If the fuse is good, use a meter or a test lamp and check across the pump connector plug when the ignition is on and the washer switch is pressed. If the meter reads volts or the test lamp lights - replace the connector and try again, if the washer piump does not run replace the pump.
If the meter or test lamp does not indicate voltage, you need to chase the harness back from the pump connector to the switch and check for a ground or a short.

I just had the same problem earlier this week. Did you disconnect the rubber hose at the cowl to see if fluid is getting pumped at all? I ended up having blockage in the windshield wiper arm that was preventing the fluid from coming out.

That was on thing I forgot to include. Check for gunk in the hose, etc. I remembered what you went through..

I thought of that, but there'* no sound of a pump operating at all - blocked or otherwise. I'm going to check the electronics now..

does anyone know which fuse it might be? the manual only references the wiper fuse (which is good, as the wipers work), and it'* dark out and I don't particularly feel like systematically pulling fuses until I (perhaps) hit paydirt.
I assume I need to get down on the ground to find the pump/harness to it - which I can't do right now - otherwise I'd pull the connector off and put the volt meter across it and have the girlfriend push the button..

solved..
since I (was lucky enough to have?) purchased the car from a dealer, I brought it back in for service and let it be their problem for now. I figure I'll have plenty of time for troubleshooting in depth on my own after the 60 day/3000 mile warranty is gone.
Thankfully I did, as it was the whole wiper switch assembly. As a lot of you guys probably already know, the switch for the sprayer is a DPST switch - which I didn't know and had me confused as pushing the button for the sprayer would activate the wipers but not the sprayer. The pole for the sprayer (or wiring for it) must have been bad.. entire assembly was replaced and I'm good to go..
