Default 2001 Bonneville dies

148,000 mi when I slow down or go to stop the idle goes to about 600 / 700 rpm and then dies (when warm) when cold and I stop, it races a little and seems to jump in gear so I always have to keep the brake pedal pushed. Any ideas?

Sorry it took so long.
I cleaned the throttle body and it runs better however when I come to a stop when it'* not fully warm, the idle goes down to about 300 rpm then it corrects to 1300 rpm then settles at 900 rpm. When the car is warm, it just idles down and dies. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Did you clean, check and/or replace the idle air control valve?

I had not cleaned it, but did so last night. This morning when I stopped it just idled down and died. It did not surge like before.

I am not sure your MAF has anything to do with it stalling, unless the thermistors are intermittently failing, or reading incorrectly, but just in case, have you tried using some MAF Sensor Cleaner to clean the thermistors on your MAF?
Some use other than the recommended MAF Cleaner, but I highly recommend sticking with specific cleaner made for the MAF'*, just to be safe.
The MAF can cause issues without throwing any DTC'*, it has happened to me in the past.

I did clean the sensor, drove it for a few days, still dies when sitting at a stop. Always restarts, throws no codes. Tac shows about 700 rpm then just idels down and dies.Any suggestions?
