2000 ssei stalls only after cold start
I have a 2000 ssei I drive every day. Recently it has started to miss or stall after cold start at 9-10 min into the drive and makes no difference if it sits and idles or out on the road its always at about the same time. It'* sounds crazy but it now does it every day on the way to work and after sitting all day it will do it again on the way home. Sometimes is will just miss once or twice and snap out of it and drive fine and others it will go into a stumble for several seconds and if it dies it won't restart for several min it will just crank and crank but after it sits for a bit (10 min or so) it will start back up like nothing happened and won't miss again till next time it sits and cools.

My guess is the crankshaft position sensor is starting to fail. If that is the case, the stalling will become more frequent and restarting will be more difficult. As the CPS starts to fail you will experience stumbling as it stalls but catches itself before shutting down, and complete stalls where you are driving and the engine shuts down like someone flipped a switch.

The crazy part is you can almost set your watch by it then after it goes through its fit it runs great. I'll replace the cps tomorrow and let ya know if it cures it

Thanks for the feedback. Glad it worked. The symptoms you described were pretty typical for a CPS failure, which is a very common failure on a Bonneville.
