Default Intake Gaskets leaking???

OK, got the well known intake leaks- going through about a qt of antifreeze every couple weeks so not terrible.

Checked with my local guy and he says oh bout $350 with parts to changes, half a day. I didn't think that was too bad.

About $50 and $60 in parts, LIM gaskets, supercharger gasket, 2 rubber O rings, and a throttle body gasket. About 4 hours of time if you have never done it. Takes me about 2.5 hours. The only problem area is the vacuum T under the supercharger snout, it tends to be brittle and brake a lot. For a shop that'* not a bad price I guess.

The parts should cost closer to $100
LIM gaskets dealer cost $43
SC gasket (comes with rings) Fel Pro $12
TB gasket FelPro $6
Injector O-rings (at least 6) $7
Cleaners and goops ?
Coolant and oil change

Takes me 2 hours to flip one out the door.

The price you got is very fair. Just ensure they use the aluminum intake gaskets. FelPro has a part number with a T at the end of their Aluminum gaskets.

Thanks guys- This shop is one of those rare guys that works really cheap and tries to "fix" things to save people money. I didn't think that was too bad of a price. I could have done it, but it'* more a matter of time than anything else- plus it'* good to get another set of eye'* on this puppy just in case there'* something I'm missing otherwise. I like doing suspension and brake work but going into the valley I'm not so much into.
Thanks again!

If the leak is external, yup, it'* intakes and seepage. If it'* internal, then it'* more likely the TB/SC gaskets than the LIM'*. And we'd suggest the LIM'* while that much stuff was off anyhow.

I stopped by the shop@lunchtime to check it out- already had the lim back on. Said it was clean as a whistle inside. He was replacing more stuff than he thought, brittle lines and such. Inside of the manifold looked pretty crappy though. Probably from the recirculated exhaust I would assume.
Said she'll be done soon. and I asked about the gaskets, if they were the Alum ones- he thought they were steel? I know I told him to get the best no matter the cost and there were options. Either way, will still be better than orange puddles all over.

The puddles will be cured if he put sealant on the bolts for the LIM.
