Hello.
Any help/info is very much appreciated.
2000 Bonneville 3.8 no supercharger. 58,000 miles.
My wife drove our car roughly 3 miles to our childs pre-school. Ran perfect.
She shut the car off to take him into the school, came out ten minutes later and the car would not start. Engine will crank, but will not run.
Here'* what i do know: Check engine light is not/never came on. I have checked the key on/engine off fuel pressure (42 lbs.), I have checked for trouble codes none present.

Things that had already been replaced in the last few months: Upper and lower intake gaskets, MAF sensor, New spark plugs,

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Could be a crankshaft position sensor. Check for spark at each spark plug wire. Check for spark at the coils. Has there been any issues, even of a minor nature, to date?

If for some reason you don't have the ability to check spark. You can roundabout test for it by taking a 194 bulb (turn signal/side marker), bend the tabs out and insert it into a fuel injector plug. Crank the engine...the light should be lit up/flashing fast.

If it'* flashing, that means your injectors should be putting fuel in the cylinder and the only thing missing is the spark.

A week or so ago my wife said the car acted odd @ a stop sign. She couldn't elaborate, but said it never happened again. The car is driven daily, and she said she'* had no other instances.

I will also say this: A few moments ago i put the accelerator to the floor while cranking and the car did try to run. it ran VERY rought if i held the pedal about half way. did that for a few seconds then it died.

Would a crank sensor throw a trouble code?

No codes. I'm lost.
Would a maf prevent starting?
Could my Zone' purchase be causing me grief?

I had a crankshaft position failure and it didn't throw a code.

Please follow the directions we are providing to you. Check for spark at each plug and the coils. Check to see if the injectors are firing.

spark + fuel + air = ignition

You are missing one of these.

One other thing to check, is the security light on? Maybe you have an issue with the security system.
With the key on engine off the sec light should stay on for 5 sec and them go off. If it stays on or flashes the problem might be is this system. If the sec system thinks you are trying to steal the car it will disable the fuel system.

Sorry to be a pain.
If the injectors are getting their "signal" does that eliminate the crank sensor? Is that where the signal comes from?
