It'* hard to find. It'* on the bottom of the radiator on the driver'* side...facing downward. It looks like a plastic bolt, rather than the "usual" petcock. It'* easier to see by pulling the splash guard.

i dont even have a splash guard.. but that metal frame piece that goes right under the radiator is seeming to block all access
ill have to take some pics and have you draw some arrows

OK, that will save me from having to pull my shield and take some. It is right above that frame which does make it hard to find. I think that I spent a fair amount of time searching for it originally. Even now, knowing where it is, it still takes a few seconds before I find it.
Edit - The large wire loom that runs in that area could also be blocking your view of it.

Can't you drain a significant amount of the coolant by removing the knock sensors? That really doesn't take care of your radiator i realize.

I think I would just pull the hose. I wouldn't trust anything plastic to seal properly after removing it. That or I would break it in the process of removing it.

well today I had to get my coolant flushed, and i looked and looked for that drain plug. i could not find it! so i ended up disconnecting the radiator hoses several times to get all the DEX out. after i got the coolant completely water, i found the damn plug. it is easily removed with a 19mm socket if you are worried about breaking the tabs off
my question. does the car need to be running in order to have the heater core flushed? keep in mind i have the electric water pump, so i did all this flushing on a non running car, because i could just turn the pump on to circulate things. i had the car on ACC, and the heat turned to 90*, and the fan on high. would that work? im not sure how that works
anyways, here is a pic of the drain plug
