Default New car

In about 2 weeks time I will be the new owner of a 1998 Buick lesabre. It has 166 xxx kilometers on it. Green in Colour Interior is Grey loaded with options. Concert sound(going to put my own system in though) Ac works. pl pw key less entry. All it needs for safety is one new brake line to the rear and a new windshield. Oh and it comes with brand new snow tires on it. No rust undercoated every year.

My question is, Is there any problems with the 98'* I just want to hear some positives and negatives about the 98 production.

Welcome to the Bonneville club. Other then the common things to check, plugs, wires, all fluids. Can't think of any issues with the car. Look close at the coolant and oil to make sure there is no leaking going on. LIM gaskets have been known to fail.

Along with what Dan said...check to make sure your coolant elbow is not cracked. Another common possible problem.

Also the upper plenum on any series II is a possible problem to.

The positives far out weigh any negatives. Have herd of members driving them into the 400K with little problems. But that is all governed by the maintenance that is kept up.
