tps sensor
can anybody tell me if there is a way to check the tps sensor?once the engine warms up to operating temp. if im driving between 2000 and 2500 rpms my car will surge and my tach. jumps from 2000 to 2500 worse on inclines when on the hiway .seems to clear up a bit if i let off on the accelerator or press hard on the gas any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

I doubt it'* your TPS. It doesn't actually control airflow. Just senses what your foot is doing.
I'd be looking more along the lines of a dirty MAF or IAC. You need a scantool or a multimeter to check the TPS.

A good way to check the tps is by using an ANALOG ohmmeter, the kind with the needle dial. Connect it to the tps sensor and then sweep the throttle back and forth. If its smooth then you should be ok, if it is jumpy then that means its bad. Perform this both when its cold and hot, ive had a tps sensor that was temperature sensitive when it had problems.
Hopefully this is one part you can eliminate as the culprit, but the issue you describe, i wouldnt suspect the tps. Good luck.
