The mounting points, the case, the cooling fins on the pulley. Actually, they look nothing alike?

it is different, on the truck and stuff its facing the front and the mounting holes are on the bottom. we had a plow truck with it but they traded it for a POS dodge. according to that site though the plug is the same and all you need is that bracket. i havent messed with it i was just reading what it said on there. if you google "ad244 on 3800" there are a bunch of threads and vids that pop up of people who did

yeah the google search did bring up a video. Interesting how they got it to work when the coolant flows through the stock bracket.

Anyways, that is more drastic then I want to go on a stock cruiser. Im pretty sure this car hasn't always done this, so I would rather fix it the right way first. Know what I mean? Something has to be chewing up the power at idle more than it should be..

Ugh, that shouldn't surprise me I guess that GM would put out a technical service bulletin stating they know they effed up, but they don't want to do anything about it.

So, I should just drop it then? All this work, troubleshooting, modifying, and nothing is fixed. But, GM says that this is an ok condition?

I guess if nothing is actually wrong or deteriorated on the damn thing, maybe I should stop trying to make it work properly. I dont know...

you can modify it, or live with it, but i dont think there is anything wrong with your specific car. just poor design
