Post your hunch, I have to save up $75 for the scan anyway and besides if you have some idea I can pass it on to my mechanic, he'll know what to look for. Besides if that is not what is wrong my mechanic doesn't charge me the time for it.

What year is the car? You may not need a scan tool if it has an OBD I computer. In addition, AutoZone will scan any car and give you the codes for free (make sure you write down all of the codes)

Yes, post your year and model and any mods in your signature.
I'm betting you only have a $20 part going out on you, but you need to get scanned if it'* throwing a light. It could be something more serious. Get the free scan. If you're 93 or older, there'* a scan procedure in Techinfo for you, if you're 94 or newer, do the free scan at Autozone.
