Just noticed your signature. With 5% tint on the back, you might want to consider halogen backup lights. They're 250% brighter. I couldn't even see mine through the back window until I changed them.

What do you guys think?
qtr. mile race..

1999 Mercedes-Benz C230 Komp. (0-60) 7.6 (1/4 mile) 15.7

1995 Pontiac Bonneville SE (0-60) 7.1 (1/4 mil) 15.4

Good choice on the year, BTW. 95 is the lightest and quickest....plus i've got one (just an SE, too) and they're great

With Drifter'* ROT, mass/hp: There was only 1 slk 230 listed, and it'* a convertible supercharged car :-?

Bonneville: 16.8
SLK 230: 16.8!!!!!!

Bonneville: 3446/205
SLK: 3036/180

I'd say it'd be close....HOWEVER...hehe i've got dibs on yoru bonnie.
Not bad for a family car vs. a "sport" car

I guess the only way to find out for sure, is for you to 'take one for the team', so we know what to expect when we go up against one! Good luck, and post the story in kills.........!

After watching this thread for a while, I decided to approach my boss, who happens to drive a 230 Kompressor. We will be going at it tonight at an industrial park down the street from our office. She has always bragged about her car being the schiznit, so I guess it'* time to bring out the Iron. The specs:

Her: 1999 Mercedes-Benz C230 Komp. (0-60) 7.4 (1/4 mile) 15.3 @96.7 MPH - ran at Richmond Internation Speedway this past spring.
Me: 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SSE (0-60) 7.1 (1/4 mil) 14.99 @98.2 MPH - ran this yesterday at the "Raceway" in Manassas,VA. It'* on the way home, so I stop there once in a while to get my *** handed to me by the blown Camaros and Chevelles. They seem to enjoy it and I get some really good runs.

I am going to lunch on her German Schitzle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
I will post the runs tommorrow morning in Kills.

Ya know, that last comment about her German Schitzle is gonna get Drifter all fired up again. Just thought I'd prepare you for the inevitable.

So do you have anything riding on this besides bragging rights?

Sorry to disappoint you Drifter, but she'* a lesbian. A damn fine looking one, at that!

The office pool is up to $1100 at 2 pm EST. Cutoff is 4:30 pm EST. The winner gets 25% of the take. The rules are easy: best time down the track wins. The office manager went down to the road that we'll be using at lunch and marked off the 1/4 with room to start/stop. Her huband used to drag down in Richmond and has a photo gun w/ timer so we can get good times. I'm glad I am at 1/4 tank and I just happened to have used my octane boost/cleaner the other day, so I'm running about 100+ octane for this.

Mark
