Default Newbie with Headlight Question

So I hang out in the gm-truck forum as I own a 2002 GMC Sierra. I just bought a 1996 Pontiac bonnevile and the first thing I want to do is upgrade the lighting. How in the heck do you remove the halogen bulbs? I want to put in silverstars and I cant get to the plug to replace the bulbs...

The owners manual says to remove some screws, I tried that but the housing didn't come loose like it said it would.

Any advice for a newbie?

I searched some threads but didn't find any hits for this, I did however find how to disable my DRL'* and I did that no problem...

Thanks.

What year is it? You should be able to reach it and remove it without remove the housing.. for a 96+ all you have to do is remove the 2 bolts on the inner side of the lights.. loosen the phillips screw where the lights and marker lights meet.. pop the marker lights out ( outwards.. may need a slot screwdriver to help you ) and then push the assembly out ( towards side of car as it'* held by clips in that direction ) and voila.

It'* a 96. Green of course the best color.

I did remove the 2 inner bolts however I didn't see anything about a screw to remove between the headlights and the side marker lights. Are the headlights and the marker lights 2 seperate pieces or 1 piece?

I will have to give this a shot tonight when I get home. It'* snowing here as we speek and I'm working on upgrading the lighting as it sucks.

Thanks again.

Are they aimed right? You may have messed them up.

Of course I agree completely.

While we have a headlight topic open, I cannot find my DRL module as described in TechInfo. Can anyone give a slightly different description of where it is located? Perhaps I'm looking right over it or something...

Im sure they are "AIMED" could be aimed crappy could be aimed just right however Im not the right person to ask about that cause I suck at aiming lights... Normaly ends up worse after I'm done then when I started.

To answer the DRL question........

I had to completly remove my Air box then I could see it no problem. Once you know where it'* at you can get to it without removing the airbox. You can also get to it if you have your headlights out
