Default what happened ?

Well, i bought a 94 bonneville and i remplace the tranny. everything is good but when i start it, it run about 1200 rpm'* and more he heated, more the rpm'* go up... hot he run about 1800 rpm'*. the IAC is nice, the tps voltage too... i think than i see 2 possible problems; vac leak or pcm problem... someone have an idea?

Thx Fred

Welcome to the world of the 94.

I agree 100% with your diagnosis of vacuum or PCM. Let'* start off on the easier of the two and check for vacuum leaks. Most likely your lines are original and leaking badly. Also.. consider cleaning the TB in case the throttle plate is sticking open.

After we rule out a few more things..we'll know it'* probably a flukey pcm.

What did you replace the trans with? New, rebuilt, or used?

Good thought...but that shouldn't impact the idle speed.

Check the cruise cable from the TB down to the solenoid above the tranny; case. If it'* too tight, it'll hold the throttle open a bit.

94 & 95 are OBD 1.5 hybrid years. They have an OBD2 connector..they are not full OBD2 though.

When you try swapping PCM'* make sure you change the eprom chip from your original to the new one.
